Building History
The Sacramento, California, City Directory, 1866, (p. 28), indicated that a school was opened in an existing building on 5th Street between K and L streets, soon after the establishment of the first Sacramento Public School in 02/1854. A woman by the name of A.E. Roberts was its first principal. It was likely established by 1855 or 1856.
Demolition
This school was razed. The Downtown Commons or the Golden 1 Center were built nearby or on this site.
