Building History

Arline Devers, who resided at 1320 Larking Street, obtained a building permit for a two-story and basement frame dwelling near the corner of East Wawona and South Ulloa Street (then numbered 250 South Ulloa) in 1927. There was no architect for the house. F. Thomas of 1533 9th Avenue in San Francisco was the building contractor. Its estimated cost was $5,000. (See “Building Contracts, Etc.,” The Recorder (San Francisco), 09/23/1927, p. 10.) An "F. Thomas" at this address was not listed in the San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1927.
