Building History

The Seattle Daily Times of 05/02/1904 listed the house at 1503 25th Avenue as receiving a building permit. It noted: "W.H. Tupper, 1503 Twenty-fifth Ave., build 1-story frame cottage, 26x44, shingle roof, $1,200. Willis Jameson, contractor." (See "Building Permits," Seattle Daily Times, 05/02/1904, p. 7.) William H. Tupper worked as a linotype operator for F.A. Hawley in Seattle. He lived at 2218 5th Avenue as per the Polk's Seattle Directory Company's Seattle, Washington, City Directory, 1904, (p. 1039).

On 10/25/2010, Rosie Mae Ashford sold the house to Hope A. Evans for $300,000. The Hope Evans Living trust sold the house to Matthew T. and Claire Marie Evans on 01/12/2016 for $400,000. (See King County Department of Assessments.gov, "Parcel Data for Parcel #9828200430," accessed 01/23/2024.)
