Portland, OR,-based engineers Stevens and Thompson offered to produce a study and preliminary plans for a sewage treatment plant in Lewiston, ID, in 1955. An note in the Lewiston Tribune said: "The Lewiston City Council was offered a contract for a study of plans for a sewage disposal plant. H. Loren Thompson of the Portland engineering firm of Stevens and Thompson said his firm would make a study and submit preliminary plans for $2,100."
