A notice in the 12/13/1856 issue of Placer Herald newspaper of Auburn, CA, stated: ""This place of amusement was to have been opened by Mrs. Estelle Potter, last Tuesday Evening." The theatre would have opened on 12/09/1856. (See "Marysville Theater," Placer Herald, 12/13/1856, p. 2.)
