Overview
As per Corbett and Company's Seattle City Directory, 1892-1893, (p. 608.), the Atkins Building stood on the south side of Columbia Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues.
Building History
As shown in a Sanborn Insurance map of 1893, the Atkins Block was a wood-framed structure, located midblock, near the southwest corner of Columbia Street and 4th Avenue. The Atkins Block had a central stairway that led up to the building. It also had a stairway in back on its south side. The Sanborn map indicated that it contained lodgings at the time.
