Building History

In 1896, the Armory of the National Guard of California, Company B, 5th Regiment Infantry, Second Brigade stood at 50 North Market Street in San Jose. Regimental officers included: Captain H.L, Partridge, 1st Lieutenant J.J. Adel and 2nd Lieutenant T.W. Searle. (See San Jose, California, City Directory, 1896, p. 25.)

Architect William D. Van Siclen (1865-1951) has been given credit for the design of the armory.

Demolition

The San Jose Armory was demolished.
