A legal notice for contractors' bids appeared in the Tulsa Worldon 08/01/1917. It declared: “The Board of Education of the City of Tulsa, of the State of Oklahoma, will receive sealed bids until 8 o’clock p.m. August 6th, 1917, at the office of the Superintendent of Schools in the old high school building, City of Tulsa, for the construction of one six room school building to be located in the Western part of the Tulsa School District in the addition known as the Home Gardens Addition. Said addition is located midway between the Crib Siding Station and the Vern Station on the Sand Springs Interurban Line. Said construction to be in accordance with the plans and specifications on file in the office of Van Siclen & Collignon, Architects, corner of Fourth and Detroit Streets, Tulsa, Oklahoma.” (See “Legal,” Tulsa World, 08/01/1917, p. 13.)
