Building Notes
English-born Seattle architect Edwin Walker Houghton (1856-1927) designed this residence for George H. Woodhouse to be erected at 108 Mercer Street West. The Seattle Daily Times described this new building in 1900: "Architect E.W. Houghton has filed plans for the home of George H. Woodhouse, which is to be erected at 108 Mercer Street West. It is to be a two-story frame, with brick basement, 46x27 in dimensions, and is estimated to cost $2500." (See "New Buildings," Seattle Daily Times, 06/23/1900, p. 17.)
