Overview

This non-descript, commercial building was erected in 1937, and housed a strip club/bar in 2023.

Building History

This commercial building at 1530 1st Avenue South was erected in 1937, according to King County Department of Assessments records. (See King County.gov, Department of Assessments, "Parcel Record for 766620-6450," accessed 04/04/2023.)

Plans announced in 2008 called for the opening of a Deja Vu strip club in this storefront location. The Seattle Mariners objected to the proximity of the club to its stadium, Safeco Field. Their objections were either ignored or settled. The strip club, Dream Girls, occupied the space at 1530 1st Avenue South in 2023. In 2023, it had two entrances, one on 1st Avenue South, the other on Occidental Avenue South.

On 11/02/1992, Darlene Jennie Schefsky sold the property to Michael D. Ramage for $590,000. He, in turn, sold it to 1530 First Avenue LLC for $5,089,000 on 03/31/2010. (See King County.gov, Department of Assessments, "Parcel Record for 766620-6450," accessed 04/04/2023.)

1530 First Avenue South LLC continued to own the building in 2023.

Building Notes

The building at 1530 1st Avenue South occupied a 9,000-square-foot (0.21-acre) lot and contained 22,900 square feet on one story.

Alteration

Significant alterations occurred in 2005.

According to the King County Department of Assessments, the building underwent "substantial alteration and change of use from existing R&D lab use into Adult Cabaret use, occupy per plan." A permit for remodeling was issued on 12/04/2008 for work valued at $850,000 and reviewed on 08/09/2011. (See King County.gov, Department of Assessments, "Parcel Record for 766620-6450," accessed 04/04/2023.)
