Building History

As noted on the Whitworth University.edu website, this dormitory was named for two long-time, women, staff members of the school: "Baldwin-Jenkins, named for Estella E. Baldwin, registrar from 1935-70, and Marion R. Jenkins, dean of women from 1931-63, is a first-year residence for men and women." In 2023, 89 students occupy Jenkins Hall, and 71 lived in Baldwin Hall. A central, hipped-roofed lounge joined the two buildings, which also have hipped roofs. (See Whitworth University.edu, "Residence Life & Housing: Baldwin-Jenkins Hall," accessed 03/20/2023.)
