In 1899, the J.J. O'Brien Store operated on the northeast corner of Market Street and Jones Street in San Francisco, CA. At this time, Joseph J. O'Brien was a director of J.J. O'Brien and Company. Thomas R. Bannerman was its president and manager, Ella F. O'Brien its vice-president, and Gerald O'Brien its secretary. The firm was an importer and dealer in domestic and foreign dry goods.
