Building Notes
By 2020, the 4,500-square-foot house featured four bedrooms and six baths, and extensive indoor-outdoor living areas. The house had a 300-degree view of its environs and had a recording studio used by Morillo. It occupied a 0.82-acre site. The website Dirt.com, described the house in 2021: There are three distinct levels— the main floor, with the public reception rooms, kitchen and various living areas is actually the home’s penthouse level. Guests are ferried up to the front door via a long staircase lit by with LEDs. A glass elevator leads to the lower level, which packs in the home’s bedrooms, including a primary suite with dramatic views of the city skyline. Out back, accessible only via a steep exterior staircase, lies a recording studio that’s reminiscent of a concrete bunker, hidden in the depths of the property’s retaining wall slabs." Alteration
The Flying Wing House was renovated in 2014 by West Hollywood architect Dean Larkin for DJ Erick Morillo (born 03/26/1971 in New York, NY-d. 09/01/2020 in Miami Beach, FL). Morillo died at this Miami Beach residence of "acute ketamine toxicity."
The listing agen, Jason Oppenheim, who sold the house originally to Morillo in 2014, reinvested in the house in 2020, further upgrading the exterior siding, landscaping, lighting and sound system. Oppenheim was the listing agent for Morillo's Estate. He had an asking price of $7.99 million in 2020. The house eventually sold in 09/2021 for $9.405 million..Jacob “BA” Blackstock, a Canadian tech entrepreneur, won a bidding war for the house with an all-cash offer. (See T.J.
