Building History
In the 1920s, Berkeley architect Bernard Maybeck tested the idea of producing one-room houses. The Staniford House was one of these efforts to design a capacious, small house at modest cost.
Demolition
Maybeck's Staniford House was destroyed by the rampant Oakland Hills Fire of 10/20/1991.
