Building History

Percy P. Davis commissioned the construction of the Broadmore Apartments in 1915. As a 1919 photograph in the Seattle Sunday Times, noted, Davis sold the apartment block for the ample price of $150,000: “This photograph shows the Broadmore Apartments, southwest corner of Jefferson Street and Terry Avenue, which has just been sold by Percy P. Davis to Mrs. Ida Huber through West & Wheeler for $150,000. The deal was one of the largest apartment buildings here in several years. The Broadmore was erected by Mr. Davis in 1915 and is considered one of Seattle’s finest apartment buildings. Mrs. Huber purchased the property as an investment and hereafter the building will be under her personal management.” (See “Terry Avenue Apartment House Sells for $150,000,” Seattle Sunday Times, 11/09/1919, p. 16.)
