Building History
Architect John L. Perry designed this six-unit apartment building for his client, a widow, Tirza Schuele Sohns (1834-1922). The Seattle Daily Times noted the building in its real estate page of 06/08/1902: "J.L. Perry awarded the contract for erecting a six-tenement flat building, each flat containing six rooms, besides bath, to Ira Ward. The building, which is owned by Tirza Sohns, will be built at 214-24 John Street, at a cost of about $10,000." (See "Real Estate and Building Review," Seattle Daily Times, 06/08/1902, p. 32.)
