Building History

Architect Oliver Perry Dennis (1858-1927) contemplated or actually built at least two investment apartment buildings for himself, one in Hollywood, and this one on Vendome Street in Los Angeles, CA, in 1916. The Los Angeles Times published a notice of this flat's imminent construction in 1916: “An attractive flat building with plaster exterior walls and tile cornice has been planned by Oliver P. Dennis for a site on Vendome street, north of Temple. Construction will be started this week. Mr. Dennis is building the improvement for himself.” (See “Ready To Go Ahead,” Los Angeles Times, 01/16/1916, part V, p. 1.)
