Building History
In about 1955, the Sands Motel offered 30 units, each with wall-to-wall carpeting, tile showers, telephones, televisions, and radios. Some “Murphy kitchen apartments” were available as was a heated swimming pool. The motel also maintained a children’s playground. It was likely laid out on one-floor.
Demolition
The Sands Motel was razed, quite possibly to make room for the Century Freeway (I-105), later renamed the "Glenn Anderson Freeway" in 1994.
