In 1899, Oakland's Fire Station for Engine Company #2 operated at 468 6th Street. F.R. Moore was its foreman, V. Chloupek its engineer, Michael Roach its stoker and J.D. Cramer the driver. (See Husted's Oakland, Alameda and Berkeley Directory, 1899, p. 16.)
