Overview
In 1878, the San Jose Savings Bank had its location at 278 Santa Clara Street, opposite the Auzerais House Hotel. Its officers included John H. Moore, president, Cary Peebles, vice-president, H.H. Reynolds, cashier, and H.L. Cutter, secretary. The board of directors was comprised of John H. Moore, Samuel A. Bishop, Cary Peebles, J.Q.A. Ballou, H. Messing, S.A. Clark and Dr. W.H. Stone.
