Overview

This first Young Men's Christian Association building in Pasadena was located in a former residence. In 1902, the YMCA of Pasadena was located on the southeast corner of East Colorado Avenue and Broadway. Arthur H. Collins was the president, Charles E. Rice, the receation secretary, Kenyon Warren, treasurer, and George Braden, physical director.(See Pasadena, California, City Directory, 1902, p. 205.) The following year, the YMCA had moved to the northwest corner of East Union Street and North Raymond Avenue, and Eaton Sams was its general secretary. It remained at this location in 1905.
