In 1900, Mary E. Rowe operated the Hotel Denver in the then independent City of Ballard, located on the south side of Ballard Avenue between 1st Avenue West and Park Place in Ballard. (See R.L. Polk and Company's Seattle City Directory, 1900, p. 535.)
