Building History

This three-story brick building served as an early single-room occupancy (SRO) hotel in Spokane, built in the immediate aftermath of the devastating fire of 08/04/1889. In or near central business districts in rapidly growing WA cities like Spokane and Seattle, entrepreneurs built many new SROs, catering to single, working-class men without families or many material possessions.
