Building History

The Saint Louis, MO-based firm, the Bank Building and Equipment Corporation, designed the Fidelity Savings and Loan Building and the First National Bank of Spokane Building on the same block of West Riverside Avenue in 1953 and 1954, respectively. The Fidelity Savings and Loan Building replaced the Ziegler Block, a five-story masonry office building built in the wake of the Great Spokane Fire of 08/04/1889.
