The Manchester Hotel operated on Pacific Street prior to 07/23/1865, when it burned.

Demolition

Four people were injuried in a blaze on 07/23/1865. The Grizzly Bear wrote in its 07/1915 issue: “The Manchester Hotel, on Pacific street, San Francisco, was burned July 23, and four lodgers were badly scorched by being caught in the flames.” (See “Fifty Years Ago,” The Grizzly Bear, (See 07/1915, p. 19.)
