Building History

In 1888, M.D. Ballard served as President of the Seattle Hardware Company. He was assisted by A.S Burwell, vice-president, and T.L. Cragin, treasurer. The business sold wholesale and retail hardware and agricultural implements at 625 Front Street (later 1st Avenue). It burned on 06/06/1889. (See Seattle, Washington, City Directory, 1888, p. 198.)
