Overview
The Seattle architectural firm of Bebb and Gould designed this residence for Matthew Lyle Spencer, Dean of the School of Journalism at the University of Washington in the 1920s. Spencer would become President of the University of Washington after the ouster of Henry Suzzallo in 1926.
Building Notes
The University of Washington Libraries' Special Collections Division has 34 tissue, paper and linen construction drawings of the M.L. Spencer House. It was Special Collections Project #308: M174 & HA1464 (Box: C10).
