Building Notes

The Hart Production Studios won a Build America Award in 2007 from the Association of General Contractors (AGC).

The studio contained a tall, two-floor digital imaging studio space, offices, and a garage with space for two vehicles. According the building's structural engineer, DeSimone Consulting Engineers, "The foundation utilizes 26, 30-inch-diameter drilled concrete piers, which extend down to 20 feet and are tied together with grade beams. The slab-on-grade is designed to span between piers in the event that the soil liquefies and settles. The structure is designed using light gage steel framing combined with plywood shear walls. Steel moment frames were also used to provide lateral support for the rotunda." (See :DeSimone.com, "Hart Production Studio," accessed 02/24/2020.)
