Overview

This 5-story, brick hotel stood near the Pomona Business College and was in operation c. 1910.

Building History

Beginning operation as the Hotel Avis, management changed its name to the Hotel Edgar, and, by 1932, to the Mayfair Hotel.

In 2010, the hotel stood vacant.

Building Notes

Above the first-floor lobby level, the Hotel Avis had a U-shaped plan that accommodated a central light court that could bring natural sunlight and ventilation into more rooms.
