A notice in the San Diego Union in 1887 said: ""Emil Guenther, architect, is preparing plans for the Scandinavian Hall, to be built on Second Street, between G and H." (See "The Builders," San Diego Union, 09/18/1887, p. 2.) Depending on which side of the street the hall was sited on, the number could have been in the vicinity of 685 or 684 2nd Avenue.
