Overview

The Golden City Chemical Works operated on the corner of 7th Street and Townsend Street in 1867. H.P. Wakelee was its manager. The firm also had a business office situated on the southeast corner of Montgomery Street and Bush Street at this time. (See San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1867, p. 216.)
