Building History

The Central Pacific Railroad Company erected this passenger depot in 1875. A wood-frame building covered in board-and-batten siding, this 32-foot by 110-foot depot served the Kingsburg community from 1875 until it burned in 1902. The two-story building accommodated passengers and freight on the first floor, while the stationmaster and his family occupied habitations on the second. The line later became utilized by the Southern Pacific Railroad. (See Historic Kingsburg Depot.org, "Depot History," accessed 08/02/2019.)

Demolition

This station burned on 06/17/1902 and was replaced by a standard depot structure taken from the nearby town of Monson, CA. (See Historic Kingsburg Depot.org, "Depot History," accessed 08/02/2019.)
