Overview

This two-building complex was constructed in the late 1990s, anticipating the very rapid growth of office space in Westlake, South Lake Union and Cascade neighborhoods of Seattle, WA, during the mid-2000s forward.

Building Notes

The office building complex at 1000-1100 Dexter Avenue North occupied a 101,180-square-foot (2.32-acre) site in 2019.

The US Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) Battelle Seattle Research Center was located at 1100 Dexter Avenue North in 2019. The primary PNNL laboratory facilities were located at 902 Battelle Boulevard, Richland, WA.

In 06/2019, the San Diego-based company, CommonGrounds Workplace signed a 10-year lease for 31,780 square feet of space at 1100 Dexter Avenue North. This location was intended to provide space for up to 400 employees of this company providing coworking spaces for high tech businesses. "The company is banking on its abiltiy to configure high-quality office space quickly and cost efficiently. The company uses a proprietary demountable wall system that its [sic] says can reconfigure spaces in weeks rather than months."
