Demolition of the Maslon House caused a furor among historic preservationists in Southern California; after the death of Luella and Samuel Maslon, their heirs the house sold the house to a Minnesota man on the grounds that he would preserve it; shortly thereafter, he demolished it, touching off great controversy, as the house was in pristine condition;
Demolished; owner Richard J. Rotenberg of Hopkins, MN, tore the house down on 04/02/2002. Rotenberg bought the house on 02/28/2002, and had a demolition permit for it by 03/19/2002.
