Building History

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) held its first national conference in Seattle, WA, on 06/15/1953, and one of the tours arranged for the visiting architects was at the Simpson Lumber Company Woodfiber Plant in Shelton, WA. At the time of this tour, C.L. Walton managed the plant. This tour underscored the importance of the Washington State's lumber industry for architects at mid-century.
