Overview

This 530,000-square-foot, mixed-use housing project consisted of 453 mostly market-rate units (87 studios, 23 flex, 160 1-bedroom and 183 2-bedroom) and 39,619-square-feet of commercial space. Of the 453, 20% were set aside as "affordable" units. Flex units, or live-work lofts, were meant to activate the sidewalk and were placed on one building's outer periphery. Of the commercial square footage, 14,625 was earmarked for retail, 7,000 for production, distribution and repair for small enterprise workspaces, and 17,994 for service companies. The development had 306 parking spaces. The complex consisted of two buildings, a large, six-story trapezoidal unit featuring a courtyards and mews separtating portions of the building and the "Egg," a steel-faced building set apart from the larger trapezoid and separated from it by an open space called "Daggett Plaza."
