Building History

This downtown shopping mall was to have been part of a larger and grander urban renewal effort that was never fully realized. It opened in the middle of Downtown San Bernardino on 10/11/1972, containing 52 stores and three anchor departments stores, The Harris Company, Montgomery Ward and Company, and J.C. Penney. The Harris Company store, predated the mall's construction, having been in place since 1927.
