In 1886, the National Brewing Company maintained a San Francisco brewery on the southeast corner of Fulton and Webster Streets. It produced lager beer in this plant, and also dealt in hops and malt. Its owners were Charles E. Hansen, its president, and George F. Volz, its secretary. (See Langley San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1886, p 887.)
