Overview

Lester Scherer designed this large 1928 residence for Joseph W. Wall, who was in the insurance business.

Building History

Architect Lester G. Scherer (1898-1973) created a U-shaped, hacienda plan for the Wall House, done in the Spanish Colonial Revival Style.

Subsequent owners included the oilman Harry Ford Sinclair (1876-1956) and the heir to the Sparkletts Drinking Water Company fortune, Ted Arnds (1930-1981).

The residence, set on a 1.3-acre lot, was owned by Robert De Pietro, of De Pietro Holdings, LLC, in 2019. (Thank you to Robert De Pietro who communicated this information to the author in a telephone conversation, 01/18/2019.)

Building Notes

In 2019, the Wall House contained over 8,000-square feet, and had 8 bedrooms and 7 baths.
