Realtor and California State Assemblyman William Mead (born 01/11/1862 in Lewistown, IL-d. 11/23/1927 in Los Angeles, CA), the founder of the Los Feliz Improvement Association, erected this large house on a 400-acre parcel in 1917.
Building Notes
Mead's address in 1920 was listed in the US Census as 2401 Vermont Avenue. He lived at this address with his wife, Nella Wilde Mead (born 12/17/1874 in IA-d. 10/11/1965 in Los Angeles, CA) and two servants, Kate Kleman (born c. 1869 in WI) and Inegfrid Anderson (born c. 1890 in MN).
