Building Notes

This was the second school in Pasadena to be named the "Grover Cleveland Elementary School," completed in 1914. It replaced a 1909 facility. Grover Cleveland Elementary School #2, constructed of brick, was one of 27 schools in Pasadena that were rebuilt following the 1933 Long Beach Earthquake.

Alteration

The Panama Ornamental Iron Works of Los Angeles, CA, provided the wrought iron fire escapes for the Grover Cleveland and Benjamin Franklin Schools in Pasadena in 1918. (See "Pasadena News Notes," Southwest Builder and Contractor, 02/15/1918, p, 18.)
