Founded on 07/23/1857, the Savings and Loan Society Building in San Francisco, CA, stood at 619 Clay Street from at least 1875-1880. In 1875, E.W. Burr was the president, Cyrus W. Carmany, cashier, A.H. Rutherford, auditor, and Benjamin O. Devoe, surveyor. The board of directors included: Burr, Devoe, William Bosworth, J.W. Cudworth, J.M. Shotwell, R.J. Tiffany, T.L. Rutherford, E.F. Northam, Isaac Hyde, Annis Merrill, and H.L. King. The Savings and Loan Society had deposits of $11,584,949 in 1875, with a reserve fund of $354,755.
