Building History

In 1888-1890, this building housed a fruits, confectionery, notions, and refreshment stand operated by the Iowa-born merchant, Edgar R. Braley (born c. 1867 in IA-d. 09/13/1930 in CA). Its address was 14 South Raymond Avenue, on the opposite side of the street and just to the north of two later buildings Braley erected at 31-35 South Raymond Avenue that housed his successful bicycle and automobile dealerships and shops. This fruit stand was located on the southeast corner of South Raymond Avenue and East Colorado Boulevard.
