Overview

In 1926, H. Hashimoto managed the Hotel Syracuse in the International District of Seattle. At the time, it was one of 34 hotels operated by people with Japanese surnames for other recent immigrants from Asia denied housing in whites-only parts of the city. (See Seattle, Washington, City Directory, 1926, p. 768.)
