Building History
An advertisement in the San Diego, California, City Directory, 1899, noted that the proprietors of the Santa Fe Hotel were Bradley and Forster. Their hotel contained 100 rooms, and the managers offered "special rates for theatre people." The 1899 advertisement stated: ""Rates 50 cts per day and up. Special rates by the week or month. The Santa Fe is a large iron and brick structure, entirely new and by far the most comfortable, convenient and best conducted house in the city." (See San Diego, California, City Directory, 1899, frontispiece.)
