Building History

Bowling alley owners Harold Gelber (1909-1990) and his wfe, Elsie Q. Garfield (b. 1910), owned the Plush Horse Restaurant until 1959, when S. Jon Kreedman (1921-1999) and two Chicago partners bought it and enlarged it to become a hotel and restaurant complex. This expanded hotel opened in 1961 as the "Plush Horse Inn."
