Overview
This small Southern Pacific Railroad station serving the town of Lang, CA, lasted 18 years, from 1888 until 1906.
Demolition
A fire destroyed this third station. According to local historianAlan Pollack, M.D., "It all started in the hotel at Lang Station in Soledad Canyon along the tracks of the Southern Pacific Railroad. Much like the fire that destroyed the elegant Southern Hotel in Newhall in 1888, it was believed to have been caused by a defective flue or spark from the chimney." (See Alan Pollock, M.D., SCVHistory.com, "The Other Great Fire of 1906," published 03-04/2015, acccessed 07/09/2018.)
