Overview

This apartment hotel was built across West 5th Street from the Los Angeles Public Library Main Library #4, designed by Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue (1869-1924) and Carleton Monroe Winslow, Sr., (1876-1946) and completed in 1926.

Building Notes

Frederick E. Engstrum lived in the Engstrum Apartments in 1915. (See Los Angeles, California, City Directory, 1915, p. 780.)

Demolition

The Engstrum Apartments were razed to make way for the First Interstate Bank World Center (later known as the US Bank Tower).
