The Russ Hotel operated in 1889 on the east side of South 6th Avenue between Yesler Way and South Washington Street.

Overview

E.A. Thorndike managed the Russ Hotel in 1889, the year of the Great Fire that destroyed approximately 25 blocks of Seattle's central business district. (SeeR.L. Polk and Company's Seattle City Directory, 1889,p. 382.)

Demolition

An enormous fire on 06/06/1889 burned the Russ Hotel and many other structures in Seattle's Pioneer Square and waterfront commercial areas.
