Overview

There were three hotels in Seattle operating between 1890-1910 called either the "Leland Hotel" or "Leland House." The first, Leland House, began in either 1890 or 1891 and was located at 312 Commercial Street (later renamed 1st Avenue South). A Leland Hotel opened at 813 2nd Avenue by about 1900, and a third Leland Hotel, opened at 84 Pike Street in 1903. This last Leland Hotel became incorporated into the Pike Place Market complex in 1908-1909 and portions of its still stand.
